EC might postpone polls

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) might postpone the scheduled general elections on January 8 in its meeting to be held on Friday, sources said. Reliable sources said that due to law and order situation especially after the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, the Election Commission was facing sever difficulties of sending poll materials across the country. Earlier, Caretaker Prime Minister Muhammadmian Soomro said that the general elections would be held as per schedule but after consultation with all the political parties.-SANA
