LONDON: Britons have been warned against traveling to Pakistan in the wake of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto’s assassination. The British Foreign Office strengthened its travel advice on its website on Friday to counsel against all but essential travel to the Pakistan after violent street clashes broke out.”If you are intending to travel to Pakistan, you should follow the developing situation in the news media and consult FCO (Foreign and Commonwealth Office) travel advice regularly,” the Foreign Office said.
“Travelers in Pakistan should remain in their lodgings and not go out until the situation becomes clearer,” it further stated. It said following the assassination of Benazir Bhutto on Dec. 27, there is a risk of continuing violence in the run up to and following her funeral.-SANA
