ISLAMABAD: While welcoming the decision of PML (N) to participate in the upcoming elections, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) said Monday that the PML (N) decision vindicated the PPP strategy for securing restoration of democracy. In a statement here, PPP Secretary General Jehangir Badar said that his party welcomes the decision by Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) to participate in the upcoming elections. He said that PPP looked forward to continued cooperation among opposition for the implementation of the charter of democracy.
He said that the PPP was pleased that Nawaz Sharif, the co-signatory to the charter of democracy, had done what Benazir Bhutto had proposed in terms of political strategy. Jehangir Badar said that the PPP chairperson had returned to the country without giving up any principle but was unfairly criticized.-SANA
