Musharraf takes oath as civilian President
ISLAMABAD: President Pervez Musharraf took oath for another term in office as civilian President. The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mr. Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar administered the oath to him at a ceremony in the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
Among others, the ceremony was attended by caretaker Prime Minister Muhammadmian Soomro, acting chairman Senate Mir Jan Mohammad Jamali, Speaker National Assembly Chaudhry Amir Hussein, Former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, Federal Ministers, the PML President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussein, Provincial Governors and Chief Ministers, Diplomats, Chairman Joint Chiefs of staff committee General Tariq Majid, Services Chiefs and other prominent personalities representing various sections of life.
The oath taking ceremony was held one day after his relinquishing of the post of army chief. Musharraf after serving as the Pak Army for 46 years with nine years as Army Chief, relinquished the top post on Nov. 28.-SANA
