Independence week being celebrated in Northern Areas

GILGIT: The week-long celebrations of Independence Day of Gilgit-Baltistan are continuing in Northern Areas. In Gilgit District, gatherings were held at Gulmit and Nagar which were attended by the Ex-Gilgit Scouts who took part in liberation war of 1947-48. Programmes have been organized to pay homage to heroes of liberation war who fought a war against Dogra and liberated Northern Areas without any foreign assistance.
