Closer ties with Europe is objective of Pak foreign policy

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Monday said that closer, economic, diplomatic, and political cooperation with European Union is an important foreign policy objective for Pakistan. The premier was talking to Chairman Senate Foreign Relations Committee Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayyed who called on him at the Prime Minister’s House and presented the report of the Committee.

The Prime Minister said that Pakistan believes in better ties with all the neighboring countries, major powers and regions for the cause of peace, progress and prosperity.
He said that the government is also perusing closer ties with Organization of Islamic Countries with whom we share common faith and desire to resolve all international disputes peacefully including those confronting Ummah, the Prime Minister added.

The two leaders discussed the current political situation, forthcoming Presidential and general elections in the country and mobilization of its members to actively participate in the election process. Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayyed updated the Prime Minister upon party matters and said that PML has evolved the strategy to highlight the reforms, robust economic growth and the developments undertaken by the PML government during its tenure.-SANA
